Every time you see a gathering of models, whether it is backstage of a runway show or a gathering outside during fashion week, chances are you will see quite a few of them wearing t-shirts. Despite having access to loads of designer clothing, t-shirts are definitely the staple of a model's wardrobe. (I kind of went overboard with photos but I couldn't help it)
Sorry for the lack of organized updates, I was trying to find something that was post-worthy while being caught up with the freedom of spring break . As I was mindlessly scanning over the threads at the fashion spot I came across one entitled "Couture in editorial". I have no idea why I haven't stumbled upon this thread before, one look at the last couple of posts caused me to stare and the beautiful creations made by user andreea viva. The colors are beautiful and provides a ghost-like feel to the pictures that compliments the pale skin of the models. I wasn't going to post as many but I couldn't help it.
I am behind on comments, tomorrow I will try and be productive. I am also going to get my pictures back tomorrow using other methods beside photobucket.
I got back from Florida this morning and after 3 long days of non-stop walking followed by getting about 5 hours of sleep at night... I am EXHAUSTED. It's good be back though.
Freaking 9 more days until my pictures on here show up again. Are there any other image uploaders that doesn't have a limit and is free? that would be SUPPPERR helpful!!
This shirt has its own story. I bought this baggy t-shirt dress/ tank top pattern a while ago but finally bought some fabric for it. The instructions were really easy and automatically I started thinking about buying tons of fabric in all different colors and just make loads of tops for myself. So all goes well with sewing until I had to do the side panels which is a separate piece of fabric. For some reason I kept messing up on this part and then when I figured it out my sewing machine decides to rip the fabric in 5 different places. Now at this point, I came to three options: 1. Angrily rip the fabric into pieces and throw it all in the trash. 2. Throw my sewing machine at the wall or on the floor. 3. Or, I could channel my frustration into a more prudent way, by cutting up the front side to make it look skeletal. Heres the final result:
(sorry for the crappy photos that I always take, self-timer is the worst.) The edges and hems aren't even finished. I didn't bother with it, seeing as it wouldn't really matter. Now if i decided to create this skeletal tank top again I would have sketch it first with chalk inside of mindlessly cutting away. But I was at the point where I didn't care what the hell it looked it anymore. Maybe I could cut the back of the tank to look like a spinal cord.....
Also, I found this amazing video posted over at the Fashion Squad. Noot Seear gives a tour inside her closet and believe me its worth watching. The website also has similar videos with Ali Stephens, Adriana Lima, and Hanne Gaby Odiele that will surely leave you feeling jealous.
I wasn't planning on make a post today but when you scan over 50 pages on Kate Lanphear's thread over at the fashion spot and stare at her infamous jewelry collection, it's inevitable. I think I gasped out loud about 5 times. Time to go visit studsandspikes.com
I'm pretty sure that after the stress that the models/designers go through during fashion week that they would like nothing more than to sip some drinks and party. Well these parties can sometimes be more than a way to release stress, it seems like it can also be an opportunity for the stars to show off their own personal style.
