in the still of the night

I'm making this post extremely fast because I'm about to go to the Britney Spears concert (to be honest, not a fan of her music but the girl can perform...) Its been such a crazy day, I auditioned for a movie this morning. Well not really an audition, If I get it I will only be an extra but hey its being shot at my school which is the most interesting thing that has ever happened to my area.
Here are some extremely gorgeous photos from the May issue of Numero 103 magazine, I can't believe they all came from just one issue:

hook and line

I apologize for the lack of update! It's been such a stressful week and now that its a Friday afternoon I have some time to make a post. I was going to make a "latest purchases" post since I had a shopping spree (aka my form of therapy) but now I can't find my camera so I'll have to put that off until it decides to show up.

It's sad how rarely we see female singers of relativity new bands being able to create rock music without being labeled as a poser. Alison Mosshart of the Kills, however, is defiantly the exception. If you haven't listened to the Kills, I suggest you download some of their songs. Not only is their music great but Alison is able to bring back the fashion into rock music again. Her style comes off as natural, not try-hard as so many others try to replicate.

hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease

It feels good to be back home even if I was only gone for 2 and a half days. I missed the city so much and plus I was stuck in a place that had attractions that didn't necessarily appeal to me.... so I pretty much stayed inside my hotel room and watched tv. It was pretty relaxing until your brain felt like mush after watching 6 straight hours of sitcoms and then you felt dizzy when you stood up since you were lying down so long....
Anyways, so in my competition I competed in fashion apparel in the category semi-formal wear. Then they broke that section into groups but in my group I received a silver medal for my dress. Pretty proud, I guess, since I knew that I had enough time to improve my dress but didn't. Oh well what can you do.

Moving on....

I saw these bewitching photos over at the knightcat a few days ago that was taken by the photographer Chadwick Tyler. I haven't heard of him before so I decided to look him up and discovered that he had his own website. Just a glimpse of a few photos of his and I quickly fell in love. The models that he chooses are so naturally beautiful and haunting at the same time- perhaps this is why their names are listed under the category demons?

sweet dreams

ooh polyvore, this program makes me angrier than when I browse through ebay for hours. Why? Because it's just like giving someone an unlimited credit card at Barney's but telling them you can't spend any money. Seriously it's that evil. And addicting. Browsing through all of those items.... a person like me who has made countless amounts of collages can spend hours on this site. Here are some that I have made:

check out my account. I haven't created anything new in a while but I probably will become attached to this site again.

when you came in the air went out

Numero Toyko May 2009
"Havana rendez-vous"

Photographer: Jean-François Campos
Model: Sara Blomqvist

Now THIS is what an editorial is supposed to look like. The set is beautiful and complements the colors of the outfits. Each shot looks like a story of its own. The jewelry makes me crave for some heavily beaded statement necklaces and earrings. Not to mention how this makes me even more excited for summer (if it ever comes here). I don't wear that make color but this really wants me to look for some bold colors when it gets hotter outside.

steady as she goes

Yesturday was a good day- Dujour Magazine twittered about my blog (called it verrry inspiring. with three r's in very. how special.), my followers amount accrued more than it is ever has and I was tagged by Cari for a q&a.

Rules

1. Respond and rework: answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.
2. Tag eight other un-tagged people.
The people I’ve tagged are: Roisin, Chantelle, Molly, Noreen, Isabella, Natascha, Liz and Behind the Seams

What is your current obsession? Shoes. I use to be more of a purse person but now I'd rather spend my money on building up my shoe collection. I really like these Givenchy sandals and Alexander McQueen for Puma sneakers

What is your weirdest obsession? Intervention. I like to thank my sophomore health class for that. Now every Monday I entertain my self with two hours with watching people abuse drug/alcohol/etc. Also that show Toddlers & Tiaras. I love how wrong it is.

What are you wearing today? not doing anything special today so i'm in baggy jeans and a grey hoddie
Why is today special? Having a family lunch together at my aunts house. I love home cooked food.
What would you like to learn to do? Either to cook or swim

What’s for dinner today? Probably something with chocolate
What’s the last thing you bought? Marc by Marc Jacobs beige ca
rdigan
What are you listening to right now? Lovers in Japan- Coldplay
What is your favorite weather? mid 60s and rainy. I love the rain oh so much
What is your most challenging goal right now? Getting through the last two months of high school ever. I can hear "freedom" chanting.....

What do you think about the person who tagged you? She has cute style ;)
If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? London
Favorite vacation spot? Italy although it was an easy choice consideri
ng I've only been to Wisconsin, Vegas and Flordia.
What would you like to have in your hands right now? A credit card with an unlimited amount that I don't have to pay for ;)
What would you like to get rid of? All of my disgusting clothes from my Abercrombie/Hollister phase back from 5 years ago.
If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? Australia, it looks so beautiful.
Which language do you want to learn? French or some language
that no one knows so that I can brag about it.
What did you dream of last night? It was something about True Bloods since I watched it before I went to sleep.
Who do you want to meet in person?
If he were still alive, Marlon Brando. I think we would get along.
One thing that you would snitch out of someone’s closet, with no regrets? Noot's boots or Ashley's Fendi bag

What’s the favorite piece of clothing in your own closet? My flannel shirts because they are soooo soft.
What is your dream job? Design costumes for broadway or movies. Except I would hate to actually plan/sketch/create the garment since I take about a month to make a simple dress but since this is supposed to be a "dream"...
Favorite style steal tv/movie right now: I honestly don't watch that much tv and when I do they aren't fashion related but I'll go with gossip girl.

On a random note- it is going to snow over here for two days. Yes it is spring and the beginning of April. I think I'll just go and stare at this picture while I freeze and put on more layers of clothing. Damn Chicago.
