some kind of wonderful

We've seen plenty of celebs in the fashion industry showing off their homes, from Erin Wasson to Julia Roitfeld to Daria Werbowy. The newest addition is Sally Singer, Vogue's fashion news and feature director. And lets just say her New York apartment does not disappoint...

Check out the rest here.

GoCi collection fashion show

A reader sent me these photos from her upcoming fashion show on June 4th.
It is fashion by Golnessa Farmanara and Cindy Ayvar who both recieved Masters in design in Italy. Once again, I hate the area that I live in. The only fashion show I ever attended was um... interesting.. to put it nicely. And these photos combine my new obsession that I posted about- ruffles and the color white for summer! If you are going to be around Beverly Hills then check this out, not only will you be attending a fashion show but a percentage of the proceeds will go to heartvip.org

here comes the sun

It's finally warm enough in Chicago to go outside in loose tank tops and cut offs. All I'm in the mood for is to lay out on the beach and feel the heat of the sun.
Also summer always remind me of Aerosmith music videos from the 90's, especially Crazy

white and color with ruffles all over

I've returned to my polyvore obsession, this time displaying new things that I want to incorporate into my closet during the summer.

First off, I love the color white in the summertime. When its extremely sunny out the sun makes the color appear like its glowing. I put in Blair's Marc by Marc Jacob Joelle dress in this because I just recently ordered it to wear for my gradation and I am currently waiting patiently (or not) for it to come. Also, Marni platforms are my all time favorite heels for the hot weather. I love all the colors they come in and especially how tall they are. I don't do short heels (meaning under 4 inches). Ever.

Even if blazers are meant for the fall/winter I don't think I could stuff them back in my drawers even when it gets to hot out. I think blazers can pull together any outfit and I am trying to get rid of all of my hoodies and replace them with blazers. They are just as comfortable and I don't end up looking sloppy.

My newest obsession- ruffles and statement jewelry. Ruffles can make any simple piece- like a skirt- into something that will attract attention to it. Ruffles are appearing everywhere now- from shoes and scarfs to, surprisingly, leather jackets. I even found these pair of black jeans that fit into my new obsession. I've also been wanting to clean out my jewelry collection and replace it all with bigger and colorful pieces. I've been particularly lusting over huge cocktail rings and ,once I get my hair cut, I want to buy some edie sedgwick-esque earrings.

Also my friend just recently started a blog so go check her out here :)

hurts so good

Oak NYC is a website that I browse through while trying to ignore homework or when I like to play stylist and imagine what I would wear these pieces with. If only I could afford any of it- perhaps I'm just a fashion-masochistic deep inside and like to torture myself with staring at forbidden pieces such as:

Black skirt with grey side panels and a zippered front by Laeken. Pair this with the micro mesh bodysuit from American Apparel and a fitted blazer for instant glamour or tone it down with a tucked in, off the shoulder t-shirt.

Leather pants with zippered ankle seams by Horace. I would pair with a ruffled blouse to tone down the intensity.

A black funnel neck park that I can easily imagine being seen on Kate Lanphear by Harmon.

An oversized transparent cape with dolman sleeves and front pockets by Anzevino & Florence. I can imagine pairing this with over a white double scoop neck dress from American Apparel.

An oversized shirt with a hand painted abstract vase print and curved seams by Annitan. Tuck it in a pair of dark skinny jeans for an alternative to the shirt dress instead.

An alternative to an LBD. This playful and draped dress is by Angg. Some crazy colorful shoes would defiantley punch up this layered piece.

Black and white woven scarf with metallic thread by a Peace Treaty

an impeccable fitted boyfriend blazer from Boy By Band of Outsiders. I would wear this over anything- penicl skirts, leather shorts, tie dyed jeans....

P.s. you can tell here that black is my favorite color ;)

beyond here lies nothing

Seeing photos of Julia Roitfeld's home motivated me to do a somewhat similar photo shoot (and by somewhat I mean without her jaw dropping shoes/ jewelry collection and other amazing trinkets she has)

My collection of Vogue magazines and a few Vanity Fair ones. I find it hard to throw them away. Plus I have a ton of old Teen Vogues and other random magazines that date back to 2005.

This is about half of my jewelry collection. I have necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets scattered all around my room.

My favorite jeans and my current purse. I made a post on the first pair before about how I was going to order them and decided to go ahead with it. Now I'm looking for more statement jeans to add to my collection.

I have yet to wear the pair on the left. I call them my "monster shoes" because its the highest pair of platforms I own. My Burberry wellingtons can honestly handle anything, they are so sturdy and weigh a ton but I love them.

My favorite tees and tanks. They are extremely soft, I could live them in.

a walk of art

Over the past few days I have been doing two things.
1. Studying for AP exams until I feel lightheaded
2. Eating a ridiculous amount of sweets in order to get me through the studying.
And not much else... although I did buy two pair of shoes, I guess that should be considered "retail therapy". And what better way to help get me through the last day before AP exams than to look at even more beautiful shoes??
