This shirt has its own story. I bought this baggy t-shirt dress/ tank top pattern a while ago but finally bought some fabric for it. The instructions were really easy and automatically I started thinking about buying tons of fabric in all different colors and just make loads of tops for myself. So all goes well with sewing until I had to do the side panels which is a separate piece of fabric. For some reason I kept messing up on this part and then when I figured it out my sewing machine decides to rip the fabric in 5 different places. Now at this point, I came to three options: 1. Angrily rip the fabric into pieces and throw it all in the trash. 2. Throw my sewing machine at the wall or on the floor. 3. Or, I could channel my frustration into a more prudent way, by cutting up the front side to make it look skeletal. Heres the final result:
The edges and hems aren't even finished. I didn't bother with it, seeing as it wouldn't really matter. Now if i decided to create this skeletal tank top again I would have sketch it first with chalk inside of mindlessly cutting away. But I was at the point where I didn't care what the hell it looked it anymore. Maybe I could cut the back of the tank to look like a spinal cord.....
Also, I found this amazing video posted over at the Fashion Squad. Noot Seear gives a tour inside her closet and believe me its worth watching. The website also has similar videos with Ali Stephens, Adriana Lima, and Hanne Gaby Odiele that will surely leave you feeling jealous.
