I received this asymmetrical top from Sugarlips a few weeks ago and wore it straight out of the package to work. During my shift so many people stopped to compliment and asked me where I got it; it's definitely a showstopper! I paired it with a thrifted blazer and studded belt, silence + noise leather leggings, charming charlie gold watch and sam edelman ankle boots.

worth the time
What I wore today while running errands, it was my first time wearing the Jeffrey Campbell shoes and they are incredibly comfy. I have to find a way to wear them during the fall, or until it starts snowing which will probably start in October. Perks of living in Chicago where winter is 6 months long...
I should be packing right now for this impromptu trip that my sisters and I are taking in Wisconsin to enjoy the last breath of summer air. It's only for 2 days so honestly I'll just shove random clothing into a bag and be set.

I should be packing right now for this impromptu trip that my sisters and I are taking in Wisconsin to enjoy the last breath of summer air. It's only for 2 days so honestly I'll just shove random clothing into a bag and be set.
Recent Purchases:

- H&M sequin leggings: I remember seeing a photo of Victoria Beckham a year ago wearing sequin leggings and I thought they looked amazing on her. When I saw this photo of Sasha wearing this pair from H&M for only $20... well I knew I had to get them. And now I want sequin blazers, sequin t-shirts....
- Style A to Zoe: This purchase was the result of my new addiction to the Rachel Zoe Project. I'm resisting the urge to read it because I want to save it for the 3 hour car ride to Wisconsin tomorrow but it's soo tempting.
- Alice + Olivia for Payless boots: I know, I can't believe these are from Payless either. If your store has these in stock I suggest you go buy them. They are only $50 and are 4.5 inches tall with a hot pink sole and I can't wait to wear them during the fall.

dont you wanna feel my bones
This shirt has its own story. I bought this baggy t-shirt dress/ tank top pattern a while ago but finally bought some fabric for it. The instructions were really easy and automatically I started thinking about buying tons of fabric in all different colors and just make loads of tops for myself. So all goes well with sewing until I had to do the side panels which is a separate piece of fabric. For some reason I kept messing up on this part and then when I figured it out my sewing machine decides to rip the fabric in 5 different places. Now at this point, I came to three options: 1. Angrily rip the fabric into pieces and throw it all in the trash. 2. Throw my sewing machine at the wall or on the floor. 3. Or, I could channel my frustration into a more prudent way, by cutting up the front side to make it look skeletal. Heres the final result:
(sorry for the crappy photos that I always take, self-timer is the worst.)
The edges and hems aren't even finished. I didn't bother with it, seeing as it wouldn't really matter. Now if i decided to create this skeletal tank top again I would have sketch it first with chalk inside of mindlessly cutting away. But I was at the point where I didn't care what the hell it looked it anymore. Maybe I could cut the back of the tank to look like a spinal cord.....
Also, I found this amazing video posted over at the Fashion Squad. Noot Seear gives a tour inside her closet and believe me its worth watching. The website also has similar videos with Ali Stephens, Adriana Lima, and Hanne Gaby Odiele that will surely leave you feeling jealous.

gladiator
(handmade dress, Abaeté for payless shoes)
I made this dress, which took me about a month or so to finish. Damn thing is still big 5 sizes to big though. I had to constantly grab the fabric to make it look like it had shape... Anyways yesterday I had a competition for apparel construction against about 10 or more schools. Somehow, this dress actually qualified me for state . I didn't expect that but I guess I "modeled" it well. At least now I have two months to alter it until I go to state.I also cropped out my face out of the pictures since I looked gross. Its snowing outside and I'm stuck home- thats my excuse.
