all thats known

All that's known
In History, in Science
Overthrown
At school, at home, by blind men

You doubt them
And soon they bark and hound you-
Till everything you say is just another bad about you

All they say
Is "Trust in What is Written"
Wars are made
And somehow that is wisdom

Thought is suspect
And money is their idol
And nothing is okay unless it's scripted in their Bible
song:
All That's Known- Spring Awakening Soundtrack

Tomorrow is my first day of college which I guess I'm supposed to feel all sentimental and say things such as "omg I'm getting so old" but it hasn't even hit it me yet. Maybe its because I never did the typical highschool things like go to parties, drink, all that lame stuff that people think are cool but I never cared about. I don't think I ever was a teenager.
Well anyways since I dont have to go to bed early anymore because I can now wake up over 2 hours earlier than when I did at highschool, I thought I should use this time usefully. Meaning I went on polyvore and put together a collage of shoes, clutches, and rings that are what I consider to be "art." Clearly I've been watching way too much of the Rachel Zoe Project.

And also, the song I posted here is from the Broadway play Spring Awakening. If its showing in your town I recommend you go see it. The soundtrack is all I've been listening too for the past few weeks and now about 98% of modern music makes me cringe. I now have 44 Broadway songs on my ipod.

And since this post is completey random and useless I'll just end it now.

try and keep it in line

I finally did a makeover on the blog after procrastinating for like a month now. Even though I received many compliments on my previous header I felt like it was time for a change. Thoughts? Comments? I'm also going to try and post more often even though school starts next week. But hey no more 8 hour days, 5 days a week for me now that I will be starting college. Gosh I feel old...

P.s. How awesome/insane is this photoshoot? The shoes are KILLER

sitck and stones

I'll admit it, compared to most people interested in fashion I'm horrible at naming every model in a fashion magazine or editorial. I know all of the big name models of course but mainly I focus on the few who are my favorites in the industry. One of those being Lara Stone. Lately I've been paying more attention to her than I use too. Perhaps its her trademark prominent brow and gap teeth or the fact that shes one of a few high fashion models with actual curves that drew my attention. Whatever the reason may be I'm glad that this beauty isn't the typical size 0 model because we defiantly don't need another bone thin girl walking down the runway. No wonder Carine Roitfeld names her as one of Vogue Paris's favorite models.

Her recent Vogue Paris magazine cover actually took me a while to realize that it was her. I seriously thought it was Natalie Portman or some or some new actress/model. We are all used to Lara's tough badass look but seeing her with softer makeup and darker hair is a change that I'm in love with.

and thanks to everyone commented about my health, I'm feeling alot better and the dizziness is almost gone. Just in time for school to start next week.. ugh

just a little bit longer

This week has been one of the worst weeks i've been through in a long time. On the last post I mentioned that I was going through some health issue. Well the "issue" was that I came close to blacking out on Sunday and ever since then I've been so dizzy that I can barely leave the house. I got some tests done which came out fine and thankfully the dizziness is starting to go away. I was pretty much going insane since i couldn't use the computer, watch tv, or go out.

Moving on...

I'm so eager for fall to arrive already, it's my favorite season to go shopping. The fact that I still can't find a job is killing me because I want everything from the H&M fall collection. I should think big and check out the executive job search at TheLadders.

See what I mean??

vertigo

sorry for a small delay of posts- i'm going through some health issues that I need to work out and right now blogging isn't my top priority. I'll make a post with actual substance in a few days or however long it takes for this to pass.
so until then here's a recent polyvore collage I made, sorry if you guys are getting sick of them. I just get bored easily

spring awakening

I haven't loved a magazine as much as Vogue Australia's September 2009 50th Anniversary issue in a long time. In fact I may even purchase this one if I'm lucky enough to find it. But which cover to choose???

Usually I cringe when I see a celebrity on the cover of Vogue but this concept with Cate Blancett is genius. Not only did it grab my attention but it reminds me so much of the vintage Vogue covers that you want to frame and hang up on the wall.

My favorite editorial out of the issue features Catherine McNeil and Abbey Lee. To be honest, I didn't get the whole hype around Abbey but with these photos I am starting to see it.
